Auto Repair Reviews for Meineke Shop #2271
Good Management, Good mechanics, and Good Faith Effort. Hey There, Hope you are doing well. Anyways, All I can say they have a caring and problem-solving personality that I like. It's hard to find good help these days. The mechanic was actually a mechanic; the staff actually test drove and "said they hear the problem clear as day." I test drove it, it's fine after they inspected, they just took the brake pads and rotors apart and reassembled again and did not overtight the bolts assembly like the dealer tech did most likely, in theory. They didn't even charge me, because they just reassembled. I will definitely be asking them to change my brake pads, spark plugs and transmission changes in the future. They haven't change since the old days of checking my old car for emissions testing. They actually apply a good faith effort to the job. Premise that leads me to a good Mechanic: I took my car to the Toyota dealership. The Dealership apparently has bad listening skills, apparently its selective. I told the dealer tech that my brakes were providing a rubbing sound after they installed my new brake pads and rotors like they were tight. In addition, I heard a "swishing sound" coming from the front brake pads when I applied the brakes, which I fixed by recapping the cap on brake fluid, which fixed the problem and took it to jiffy lube for a brake fluid exchange just to be safe. I ask the dealer tech to check the installation of the brake pads and rotor and if the brake pads were semi metallic, he says he's not sure and he will get back to me, in the end he claimed it was the rear brake pads that were making the sound. I just did not see any justification or truth to his statement, so I took it to an actual mechanic. I asked the dealer tech again to see what brake pad were installed he had to look it up on a google search. I was surprised, he could not say to me they were ceramic pads the first time I asked. Ceramic pads are supposed to be quiet braking unlike semi metallic and last longer depending on the driver's habit. My last brake pads lasted to at least 80,000 miles. It's almost like they did not test drive or reassemble the parts at the dealership just to make sure, but the mechanic I took it too, did the job. Let's put it this way, Toyota dealership had 7 techs on staff and did not hear anything. I took it to a mechanic outside the dealership; they hear it on the first shot. My car is a 2024 Toyota corolla SE Juan F. B.S. in Chemistry from UW Milwaukee. Magna Cum Laude
The crew here has always taken good care of us, very personable and friendly service!
Kevin was so helpful & they did such a great job with our inspection. Gave us all the info we could possibly need or want & was so kind & a joy to work with. Highly recommend working with them on any repairs or inspections or anything car related you may need.
My car had been overheating when last I drove it, and it blew black smoke. The car was parked unused for some time over winter. I knew it needed a water pump and thermostat replacement because I had used my FIXd diagnostic module. Kevin L said "We think" It might be the head gasket $5K. I said what's the other option? He said thermostats and water pump replacement $2.2K So I said do that. I also needed a new battery since mine was 5 yrs old and wouldn't hold a charge. My front bumper was hanging and damaged on both sides from a bad neighbor hitting the car during the night in winter. The guys reattach the bumper and screwed it into place, no charge, making it look respectable and not like it was broken and in chunks! Nobody wants to pay for car repairs, but these guys do a good job and they are nice about it. It doesn't hurt if you leave them a bag of Smarties candy on the front desk when you come in the door!
Flat out, there is no better place to take your vehicle. Honest, friendly, knowledgeable staff and fair prices. They have gotten me out of some jams and back on the road in no time.
