Auto Repair & Mechanic Shop in Fairfax, VA #274

I came to the shop today to get a second opinion on my car (check engine light came on and I was quoted $4,500+ by my old mechanic to replace the catalytic converter - more than the car is worth). Chris Schmitz at Meineke took the time to explain catalytic converters and why he thought I could keep driving with the existing one; he also offered to review the long list of repairs totaling more than $6,000 that my old mechanic gave me, and declared most of it "nonsense." I also observed him talking on the phone and working with other customers in person. He is straightforward and does not upsell. This man clearly knows what he’s doing, and is honest with his customers. What a relief! We just found our new mechanic. Thanks, Chris.

My husband and I have been longtime customers of Meineke in Lee highway Fairfax, and we can't recommend Chris shop highly enough. He is one of the most honest business owners we've ever met. His prices are fair, his honesty is unbeatable, and he truly cares about taking care of his customers instead of just making money. We weren't able to visit for a while because of COVID and then my husband's health problems, but I was so happy to see that Chris is still here and Meineke is still going strong. That says a lot about the quality of his work and the trust he's built with his customers over the years. Thank you, Chris, for all the years of outstanding service. My Family uses the Meineke Service Center on Fairfax BLVD frequently. 3 different cars. Fairfax City. Routine maintenance. Repairs. Brakes. Mufflers. Tires. Air Conditioning Cooling System Work; etc. BT Chris - the Owner/Manager of the Facility is a Gentleman with deep automotive experience. He is flexible and creative. Honest and accommodating. He knows the business and is very helpful. BT Survey update Recent visit yesterday. Made appt by phone. Excellent timing available. Rear brakes were grabbing. Very noisy. Safety hazard. Scheduled Maintenance. Service performed in a timely and excellent manner. As always - Manager is most helpful. BT 15 Jul 26: Survey update. 133k miles on 2015 Highlander. Timely and professional service. Manager/Owner - as always. Friendly. Helpful. Expert auto care. 5 Stars !!!!

I'm 29. I know nothing about cars. Going to another auto shop that's not the dealership is scary, because I know... nothing about cars. Walking into this shop, Chris was very open, responsive, and easy to talk to. Was more than willing to share information about maintenance schedules, the status of the car, what recommendations he has. Looking around the shop, I was automatically impressed. Lots of awards, trophies, certifications... Definitely a place with alot of history. And then, Chris told me how long he's been in the business. And I knew right then and there, that I found a auto shop that I'll becoming back to for awhile. Definitely glad he was recommended to me.

I was taken care of by Chris, the absolutely most humble and honest man i could’ve ran into. He was very kind and informative. I had issues with my car and every other place i’ve been too had always told me some crazy story how if i take my car out right now it would blow up, but i literally only came in for an oil change. Chris is someone who you could absolutely trust, and i hope many of you consider coming to his establishment before ANYONE else. It was an honor to meet someone as genuine as him and I hope the business never falls. I’ve only been once and I guaranteed will be a regular. Huge shout out to the staff who had done an absolute fantastic job.
