Check Your Brakes
“Think your brake pads are in need of replacement? Here are three simple tests you can do to confirm.”
“3 Tests for Brake Replacement
“The first test is the sound test:
When brake pads are worn out, they will make a noise that sounds like a high pitch squealing or a metal scraping in the wheels when the car is in motion.
“The second test is the sight test:
In most cars, the brake pad can be seen through the wheel.
“Some vehicles have a slot in the center of the wheel where you can see the brake pad.If the pad is almost nonexistent, it probably needs replacement.”
“The final brake inspection test is the feel test.
Feel your brake pedal and steering wheel. When brake pads are worn out, it can cause a vibration that’s felt when braking.”
“A vibrating steering wheel when braking can also be a clear sign of brake pad issues.”
“Now, you can check this yourself. There are several factors that can contribute to brake system failure so if you’re not sure, simply bring your vehicle to Meineke for a free brake inspection and get on with your life!”
