Auto Repair & Mechanic Shop in Newport News, VA #2972

Best service ever! My alternator was going out and needed to be replaced ASAP, so I called around and Meineke on Jefferson was the only shop that could take my car that same day. It was a little farther from my house, and I was worried my car wouldn’t make it there, but I was determined to get to work by 12 PM. Of course, less than 5 minutes from the shop, my car broke down. 😭 So close, yet so far away! I rolled it into a nearby business parking lot and called Meineke to let them know I was still on the way, but now needed to figure out how to tow my car there. The front desk employee, Aubrey, told me that if I was within 5 miles of the shop, I could qualify for a fully covered tow through the Meineke rewards program. I wasn’t signed up yet, but she helped me get everything set up within minutes and sent me the link to request a tow from my location. I was so grateful for that level of care. The tow truck took a while to arrive, so I was worried they wouldn’t still be able to see me when I got there, but they were incredibly accommodating and welcoming. They got my car into the shop right away while I waited in the lobby. At that point, I was told they probably wouldn’t be able to finish the repair that same day because additional parts needed to be replaced. Aubrey then offered to give me a ride home. I could tell this was a special exception she made for me, and I was completely blown away by the hospitality. I didn’t make it to work that day, but I did receive the best customer service I’ve ever experienced. During the ride home, I found out the shop is family-owned and that Aubrey is the daughter of the owners. The next morning, I came back to pick up my car, but unfortunately the wrong fuse had been delivered. The mechanic researched it and found out the soonest another one could arrive would be 2–3 days later. I lived in Hampton and worked in Norfolk at the time, so going that long without a car wasn’t an option. I was stressed, but knew the situation was out of everyone’s control. Then the mechanic offered to personally drive to a pick-and-pull in Virginia Beach to find the correct fuse himself. I was amazed by that level of care and dedication. Aubrey became someone I genuinely consider a dear friend and was incredibly helpful in making sure I could still get to work when needed. They had my car ready by the end of day two. I didn’t feel overcharged at all. The pricing was very reasonable, and the care I received was priceless. Meineke on Jefferson will forever be my go-to shop for all of my car needs!
