I just came home from a wonderful experience at this Meineke. I'm a young female with an old foreign car and because of that, I'm accustomed to long and costly visits to the mechanic. However, this place had me in and out in about half an hour and for a VERY reasonable price. I have paid 3 times what I paid at Meineke for the same work at other auto repair shops. I wish I had found this place sooner. They also diagnosed and quoted the problems that I told them about and I had the same problems quoted before at a different shop and they told me around $2000 before labor, Meineke however told me it would be around $550 including labor. It's pretty unbelievable. Needless to say, I will be coming back here for all of my car needs.

Today I had such a great experience bringing my car to the Meineke on 655 McCarter Highway in Newark, NJ. What great customer service. I was in and out within an hour. I spread the word on how great the service was to my my friends and relative & co-workers by word of mouth and on facebook! I have two cars and I will take both cars there for now on!!! I'm writing in praise of the Meineke location and mechanic who worked on my car on Tues., Jan. 5th, 2010. I regret that I did not get his name, but he fixed an exhaust leak for me at 5pm. I was pleasantly surprised that he offered to look at my car at that late hour. He found the problem quickly and offered to do the work right then and there. He also identified a couple of minor hardware problems and fixed them, which has eliminated the banging sounds under my car. Honestly I don't know whether the price was reasonable or not ($140) but I was impressed with the convenience and professionalism at this shop. The mechanic did not give me some big song and dance about a million things he found wrong with my car (it has 165K miles). Instead, he identified a simple solution and got me out of there as fast as possible. As a result, he earned my trust, so afterwards I went back online to the web site to see what else I can have done there. Especially as a woman, it's nice to find a mechanic who deals with me fairly and professionally and doesn't mislead me into believing there is more wrong with my car than there actually is. I think this is a very good business philosophy, because eventually there WILL be other things wrong with the car and I will need to decide where to bring it. For example, I know I will need a new battery, rear brakes, and new rear tires pretty soon, and based on my experience yesterday I will go back there to get the work done.
