I would like to thank the two gentlemen from this Meineke shop that helped me this evening. Please see below:

I called the Meineke shop located at 12585 West Sunrise Blvd. Fort Lauderdale, FL 33323 at approximately 7:20 pm today June 18th, 2010 (this was the second car care place I called that was listed on the GPS, the first place asked what the problem was and then told me that they were closed already). I had located the shop from my GPS device. I was traveling from out of town and my Tahoe told me that the coolant was low. I had no idea what that meant, but after looking it up on my cell phone, I found out that I should not take off the cap and that it would need to be filled soon after the car cooled. There was a really really bad storm and I was already scared to drive.

When I called Meineke the man on the line informed me that they were closed, but he must have heard the panic in my voice and he told me to come in anyway, so he could look at the car. He told me just to honk when I pulled in and that he would open up a bay for me. I was only about a block away, but due to the heavy downpour and flooding it took me over ten minutes to arrive. Once I arrived, there were two men that very kindly popped the hood and located the problem. I asked several questions, and they answered without annoyance and then quickly filled the car with coolant. It took all of five minutes, but really meant a lot to me.

Both men told me that it was no problem and when I offered to pay they said no charge and sent me on my way. I was unsure if I could pull out of the bay because the Taho was at an angle, one of the men offered to pull out the truck and did so in the pouring rain. They probably thought I was silly not knowing what the heck coolant was, but they were helpful nonetheless.

I was grateful for all of the help and do not know what I would have done, as I had my two young children in the back seat who were already frightened by the storm, and I needed to head across the alley back home to Cape Coral. I wanted to be sure to not let this go unnoticed and also say that I do not normally handle anything to do with the car other than driving and occasionally gassing it, but I will be sure to use Meineke again soon. I will also be sure to tell my friends and maybe post it on Facebook.....lol. I never did get either man's name, but wanted to be sure they were recognized for going out of their way and staying to help me. I didn't leave the shop until about 7:45 pm - well after they were closed. It is the little things such as this that help an establishment survive and perhaps thrive in this economy.
