I was traveling from Indianapolis to Ft Wayne on Saturday. I was planning the next day to continue on to my home in Lansing, MI. My car was over heating badly, and I discovered what appeared to be a blown hose or rubber cap. I wasn't sure which. I managed to get to a parts store, Advanced Auto Parts. They looked on their computer and found a possible hose that might replace the blown part but suggested I have a mechanic from next door, Meineke, take a look. Larry (I presume to be the manager of the store) said he would have someone take a look and consult some manuals. It was after 2PM and Meineke would close at 4PM and not reopen until Monday. I was greatly concerned that the necessary part would be a dealer-only hose and that I would have to spend two nights in Muncie plus pay to have the hose installed. Larry finally came out to tell me that the part was a little rubber cap that he had several of and would only take 5 minutes to replace. I asked how much I owed him, and he said "No charge." He asked me to consider Meineke in the future, which I will, and I will certainly tell my friends that if you're ever in Muncie, IN, see Larry at Meineke for honest auto repair.



I cannot tell you enough how much Larry and his team did for me on this trip. Not only would most shops charge some kind of minimum fee (which is understandable), but many unscrupulous mechanics would have made up excuses for charging more money, especially to someone who was out of town. Hats off to Larry at Meineke in Muncie, Indiana! He'll always be my example of an honest businessman.
